Advocates for the system argue that the amount of salt doesn’t have any adverse effects on your body. However, it does corrode your pipes, will cause skin irritations for individuals with sensitive skin and infants. In addition, individuals who have installed the system have complained that the water has a slick, or slippery feel.

The safest and most economical choice currently on the market today is carbon filters. They have been proven to be the most efficient systems in removing contaminants safely, from the water. The only maintenance required is that the filters do need to be replaced periodically.
